Frequently Asked Question
We’re fortunate to call Spring, TX our home, just a quick 40-minute drive north of vibrant Houston! The George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is conveniently located only 30 minutes away, making travel a breeze. Plus, we’re surrounded by a fantastic selection of hotels and restaurants to explore. Enjoy all the wonderful opportunities our area has to offer!
We won’t ship a puppy in cargo, but we’re committed to finding the best and most convenient way for you to get your puppy home, no matter the distance! You’re welcome to fly with your puppy, but we require that they travel in the cabin with you for their comfort and safety. To make your journey even smoother, we provide a turnaround service at the airport and will supply you with a list of airline-approved travel essentials. Many of our puppies have successfully flown home with their owners, and we’re thrilled to share that everyone has reported a smooth experience.
While we usually don’t maintain a waiting list, we do make an exception for our loyal repeat puppy owners. It seems that Standard Schnauzers are just like potato chips—once you welcome one into your home, you might find yourself wanting another! Since we don’t breed very often, we sincerely hope that anyone on a waitlist won’t have to wait too long. When potential puppy owners reach out and we don’t have any available puppies, instead of placing them on a waitlist, we happily connect them with other reputable breeders. And even for those who don’t end up getting a puppy from us, we’re here to provide the same friendly support and community spirit!
We maintain the same price for all our puppies because we dedicate equal effort, nutrition, veterinary care, and love to each one of them—whether they’re destined for shows, performance activities, or simply as loving companions. You may be amazed by the investment that goes into raising our exceptional pups, and you won’t believe how tiny the difference is between our designated show puppies and all the others! In fact, the average person wouldn’t even notice! The puppies we select for shows are chosen to enhance a certain trait in our line, but here’s the fantastic news: every single one of our puppies has that show-quality potential! If you’ve ever cared for a dog that wasn’t healthy, you truly understand the priceless value of a happy and healthy one!
We understand that you want to create a special connection with your puppy right from the start, whether it’s by choosing one or having a puppy show interest in you. However, we have a deep understanding of these puppies and their unique personalities, which allows us to match them with your lifestyle and needs. Since show dogs play such an important role in continuing the genetics of their litter, we prioritize placing them in show homes first. After that, we’re excited to help you find the perfect puppy from the rest of our wonderful litter!
No, because we do that for you! Part of the cost of your puppy pays for his/her registration with AKC. We know the process like the backs of our hands, so we register the puppy with AKC before you take him/her home and ensure the puppy’s microchip number is recorded. We do the paperwork so you can focus on what really matters – your puppy’s happiness!
It’s all about timing! We do require that our non-show dogs be spayed or neutered. Most of our dogs are show-quality, even though many folks aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into showing. If you later feel inspired to give it a try, let us know! We’ll gladly assess your puppy and share our honest thoughts on their potential. Remember, the key difference for show dogs is that they need to remain unaltered, as the goal is to showcase their conformation and potential as breeding stock. We’re here to support you on this journey whenever you’re ready! Whether you want to learn how to become an Owner-Handler or would prefer recommendations for top-notch professional handlers that will treat your pup like royalty, we’ve got your back!
Puppies develop through specific stages, each with its own unique opportunities for growth! We design our early-life enrichment activities to align perfectly with these developmental phases, helping to build their resilience for the future. When puppies reach around 8 weeks of age, they enter a phase known as the fear period. Much like a toddler who seeks comfort from their parent, a typically energetic puppy may suddenly become startled or anxious by both new and familiar sights and sounds. This is why it’s important to avoid introducing them to unfamiliar environments filled with new people and places at this time. Instead, we provide a nurturing and familiar space for our puppies until they move past this fear phase, which usually happens by around 10 weeks of age. It’s all about giving them the best start in life!
